I MUST ADMIT & YOU CAN PROBABLY SEE IT IN MY FACE THAT I WAS CLOSE TO BREAKING POINT. THE LONG WAIT IN THE FREEZING COLD REALLY TESTED MY WILL. LUCKY THIS WAS THE SECOND LAST OBSTACLE.

IN A PERFECT WORLD – IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WARMER, DRY, LESS MUDDY, AND AN EXTRA 10 METER RUN UP WOULD HAVE BEEN LUXURY!

RUN&GUN DOES TOUGH MUDDER

Hello Peoples! Its been way too long since I’ve posted anything on here : ( Despite my lazyness to keep this site vibin, plenty has happened. I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m leaner, stronger, and kicking goals with my career, gym life, and clients.

Since early 2012 I have been training and prepairing a small group of  committed fitness enthusiasts for the challenge of completing the first ever Tough mudder, right here in Australia.

It was a wonderful and at times a freezing experience to deal with. I never thought I’d have such an amazing time where an obstacle course’s main aim was to break you into pieces and get you dirty as hell. My only complaint would’ve been the long cold waits at some obstacles for you turn. This was a killer of the teams momentum when we were on a roll!

I am looking forward to THE SYDNEY EVENT in September. Get involved and get at me. Come train with us!

 

CLIFF HANGING.

I was feeling kinda flat on the weekend training wise. It was kinda sad because we got some cracking weather and I let my bikes just sit there and gather dust.  So to add a bit of spice to my regime, I decided to round up my younger cousins and take them to the local indoor rock climbing center for some hang time.

The video below is a pretty basic and simple climb across 1 of the walls. Most of the climbs are colour coded, graded, and called problems. This wall here was a no brainer, but I needed that winning feeling after getting owned on most of the problems that they have set on the other walls.

In a nutshell, climbing is a solid workout. My singlet got semi – soaked from hanging on for my life. My fingers, feet, toes, and forearms got a caneing from crimping onto the tiniest of spaces just so I wouldn’t fall crashing into the padded floors.

In the climbing arena there’s plenty of eye candy and muscle going around so I think I’ll definitely be heading back to sculpt the guns!

This also impressed me. I have a new found respect for the athletes in this sport. They definitely have some mad skills on hand:

HIGH VOLUME SWEAT SESSIONS

IT HAS BEEN AGES SINCE MY LAST POST – MY APOLOGIES : (

I HAVE BEEN TRAINING PRETTY HARD BUT HAVE BEEN TOO BUSY TO MAKE POSTS! IT’S A PRETTY LAME EXCUSE, I KNOW!

Anyways, from now on I’ll do my best to keep blogging more frequently and keep it more interesting.

On Thursday last week I filmed a little part of the sessions I’ve been doing with my cousin to help toughen him up for his bi weekly basketball games. While his ball skills are pretty decent, he still needs more ooomph to kick it with the bigger dudes!

During the session we cover building up his core strength and mental toughness by pushing him to perform high intensity workouts that last for 5 minutes ( you gotta all out ) with a 3-5minute recovery period and then repeating that sequence for another 2 rounds. When he plays with his team each player gets a least a 5 minute run on the court for rotational purposes ( constant fresh legs coming on court ).  I wanted to make him strong enough to go all guns blazing, have a 3-5min rest and be able to do it all over again at the same intensity! KAPEESH!

THE TABATA COMPONENT!

This particular part of the session targets his strength endurance for short bursts of hard effort with tiny recovery and being able to keep bouncing back. We are working on his ability to go for broke, stoping and starting  repeatedly.

MY NEW TOY – BASIC / SIMPLE / EFFECTIVE

Check out my new toy. It’s the new addition to my torture den of exercise. At around $140 Aud delivered it’s a pretty decent buy.

Here’s a sample work out using the Ultimate Body Press.

AS MANY REPS AS POSSIBLE IN 45sec WITH 15 sec RECOVERY: SO GO HARD FOLKS!

- BODY WEIGHT SQUATS

- DIPS

- JUMPING LUNGES

- PUSH UPS using the HANDLES

- BURPEES TO KNEE LIFT

- REVERSE ROWS

Have a 2-3min rest at the end and tackle that circuit another 2 times. COMPLETE AT LEAST 3 SETS.

FOR REAL 6 MINUTE ABS!

TRAIN YOUR ABS IN 6MINs!

Sit up style exercises are probably not ideal for building strength in your core. Lifting your bodyweight and pumping iron is far better and more effective!

But regardless of what the facts are, everybody including myself at times can’t pshycologically get over the idea of not doing floor based ab-work on our backs for better abs.

Here is my 6 min routine that I’ve been throwing down at my group classes. It hurts and we all like the PAIN and BURN! I can garauntee that it’ll tone and strengthen your abs but I won’t promise you a flat stomach or instant abs.

To be able to see that “hard to get six pack” it all comes down to how low your body fat percentage is. Stay lean and bring your body fat to below 8% and they should be visible. Your diet will be crucial for this!

LIFTING BIG, KNOWING WHEN TO ENGAGE YOUR MIDSECTION AT THE RIGTH POINT OF EXERCISE, AND WORKING ON YOUR ROTATIONAL POWER are all better ways to build a stronger mid section / abs!

I WANNA BE LIKE MIKE!

Wired on JACK3D I’m about to train. Thought I’d throw down a quick post.

I’ve recently started kickboxing training again after many years. I hope to hit up at  least 2 sessions a weak to brush up on my skills  and get my conditioning up.

Here are a few videos I watch to give me the inspiration to strive for the ultimate GANGSTA street BRAWL skills HAHA.

Who doesn’t wanna skip like Mike, move as fast as Mike, fight like Mike, & train like a full BEAST like Mike! I reckon he’s as fast as Pacquiao!

DZHABAR ASKEROV from Saudi Arabia or Russia. He ain’t no world champion on the world tour, but he’s one tough BAD ASS.

He’s BRAVE as F*#K!, TOUGH as NAILS, got FLAWLESS TECHNIQUE, & TRAINS like a BOSS!

 

What I don’t want from all this training is to have his FACE! I’d like his physique though! We have the same stats but the only difference is that he’s got more rippling muscles than a seafood platter. He fights at 7okg and is 170 cm.

DRE DIDN’T DO IT CLEAN!

I’m not jealous but I think he’s on some of the best PED’s (performance enhancing drugs) money can buy! Never the less,  there’s no doubt that he worked hard slumming it in the gym to get that body!

 

 

Below is some running inspiration. The commercial looks like something nike would’ve produced. It’s well shot and makes me wanna eat some spints and start running some distance again!

By taste, I would probably never buy or wear SAUCONY. It’s a little sad for me to admit, but I’ll  always put styling aethetics first over technology, or just wear less clothes. HEHE!
